EuphoriaSeason 3 remains shrouded in mystery.Zendaya, who stars as Rue and serves as an executive producer for the HBO series, is the latest to speak out about the show’s delay. Unfortunately, theChallengersactress' comments are doing little to clear the air. During a conversation withVarietyat the Los Angeles premiere ofChallengers, Zendaya told the publication she “is not in charge” of whether the series will return, adding:
“If it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course. But it’s beyond me.”

Last month, HBO released a statement thatthe third season ofEuphoriawas further delayedand that its “in-demand cast” was allowed to “pursue other opportunities” (initial delays resulted from the Hollywood strikes and the death ofEuphoriastar Angus Cloud). This followed speculation that the series would not return for a third season.
Since then, several series stars have spoken about their hopes for the future of the hit series. Hunter Schafer, who portrays Jules Vaughn, said she missed theEuphoriateam, adding, “Whatever happens, I’m just excited to get back together once it’s time and catch up and hang out.” Storm Reid, who stars in the series as Gia Bennett, said she hoped viewers would be “able to finish the show.” While Reid and Schafer are optimistic aboutEuphoria’s return, one of the show’s actors (who spoke in anonymity)has doubts a third season will transpire. After speaking of all the production delays, they added:

“Because I’m an actor I will always be excited about any acting work so yes I am looking forward to returning. I just don’t think it will happen.”
Why Euphoria Season 3 Being Delayed Is a Good Thing
Euphoria’s third season was recently delayed indefinitely, and despite the show’s popularity, easing it into its cancellation might be for the best.
Euphoria’s Third Season Will See Rue and Friends as Adults
According to their statement, HBO and creator Sam Levinson “remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” which they hope is ready for a 2025 release. When (and if) the series returns, things will be a bit different from when we last saw the high schoolers.
During an appearance onThe Tonight Showin January, Jacob Elordi told host Jimmy Fallon:

“I hope [filming is] soon, otherwise they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something. I’m going to have, like, a bad back, walking down the hallway.” He added: “I’m assuming that we’re going to have to go forward. Otherwise it’s going to seem like a weird bit.”
As it turns out,Euphoria’s third season is expected to include a time jump, seeing Rue, Nate, Jules, and the rest of the crew years into the future.

Euphoria’s talented ensemble cast includes Zendaya, Elordi, Reid, Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, the late Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Nika King, and Domingo Coleman.
Seasons one and two ofEuphoriaare available to stream on Max.
