Yesterday, we reported that the British Board of Film Classificationlisted the runtime for the “Rogue Cut” of last year’sX-Men: Days of Future Pastat exactly 11 minute and 11 seconds longer than the theatrical runtime. While we still don’t know when this special edition Blu-ray and DVD will be released, directorBryan Singerclarified the report on his Twitter page, revealing that there will actually be more than 17 minutes of new footage, plus “little changes” he made to the theatrical cut. Of course, he wouldn’t elaborate on what these “little changes” may be, but hopefully we’ll find out soon enough.

Wefirst reported about the Rogue Cut back in September, with the new footage featuring a subplot involvingAnna Paquin’s Rogue. While she did appear briefly in the movie, she actually had a much bigger role, with these scenes featuring a group of mutants breaking her out of a prison. ProducerSimon Kinbergsaid the scenes represented “a substantial part of the movie,” which fans will finally get to see when the “Rogue Cut” is released. We also reported in January that the “Rogue Cut” will be released sometime this summer, with brand new special features that weren’t available on the initial Blu-ray and DVD release.

Although it seems unlikely, it maybe possible that this “Rogue Cut” could feature a sneak preview ofBryan Singer’s nextX-Menadventure,X-Men: Apocalypse. Production is scheduled to begin later this month in Montreal, so, depending on when the “Rogue Cut” debuts, there could be enough time for the director to put together a sneak preview from the set. Of course, we have no clue if this is actually in the works, but it could be a fun treat for fans, especially since the director often sends out a number of photos from the set of his movies through his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
