Hold onto your honey pots, because the third installment of one of horror’s most bizarre franchises is officially underway, and it’s tapped a screenwriter to pen the project who knows a thing or two about unconventional stories. We’re talking aboutWinnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, the new sequel from Jagged Edge Productions which comes hot off the hooves of last month’s releaseofBambi: The Reckoning. Together with movies likePeter Pan’s Neverland NightmareandPinocchio: Unstrung, the over-the-top horror offerings based on beloved children’s IPs make up the Twisted Childhood Universe.
Varietyreports thatWinnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3has enlisted the services of writerRichard Stanley, who penned the scripts for 1996’sThe Island of Dr. Moreauand the 2019 Nicolas Cage/H.P. Lovecraft sci-fi horror,Color Out of Space. Production on the latestPoohfilm is set to get underway next year, and like the previous entries in the series, ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment will be handling sales on the feature. For Stanley, he promises fans that with his talents, things in the Twisted Childhood Universe will “never be the same again.”

“I am wildly excited to be joining Scott Chambers and his creative team as screenwriter on the mind-wrenching third installment of a beloved, blood-soaked saga that has revitalized independent genre film production in the U.K. The hundred-acre wood will never be the same again.”
‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ Is Leading Toward Something Even Bigger
As mentioned by Stanley, Jagged Edge’s Chambers and Rhys Frake-Waterfield are both set to return forWinnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, with Chambers sitting in the directors' chair this time. He previously took charge onPeter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, which was undoubtedly one of the best films in the Twisted Childhood Universe to date.
“I’ve always been a huge fan ofColor Out of Spaceand all of Richard’s work,” he said in a statement, adding: “Now, with the third installment underway, I can’t wait to see his wild new vision come to life. Work has already begun — and it promises to take everything to an entirely new level.”

Produced for very little money, the Twisted Childhood Universe has managed to bring in more than $16 million at the box office across four movies, making it one of the more profitable horror enterprises out there right now. While people like to cry foul and complain they’re nothing more than a quick cash grab, it’s clear that there’s a market for these bizarre tales, which take the best from our childhood and turn them into blood-soaked reimaginings.
In addition toWinnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, there are also several more films in the Twisted Childhood Universe in the works, which will all culminate ina crossover event dubbedPoohniverse: Monsters Assembles. There we’ll get the best heroes and villains from each movie together in one glorious mishmash of gore that promises to rival anything the MCU has to offer.
Until we get there, though,Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honeyand its sequel are available to stream on Peacock, whilePeter Pan’s Neverland Nightmareis currently available to rent or purchase on Prime Video.
