Ever sinceCaptain America: Civil Warwas announced back in October, duringMarvel’s now-legendary press event, fans have wondered which superheroes will be siding withCaptain Americaand which will align themselves with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Production is still happening in Atlanta, whereJeremy Rennerwas spotted wearing a hat which teases the side his character Hawkeye may be on. The hat features an embroidered logo that reads “Team Captain America,” seemingly revealing where Hawkeye’s allegiance truly lies.

Captain America: Civil Wartakes place after the events ofAvengers: Age of Ultron, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving theAvengersresults in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they attempt to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

In the comic books, The “system of accountability” in question is the Superhero Registration Act, where every superhero must register themselves with the government and become part of a global police force designed to deter world threats. Tony Stark is all for this initiative, while Cap is against it, and now it seems that Hawkeye is on Steve Rogers' side as well.Jeremy Rennerteased earlier this week that thesuperhero moviehas “a lot of stuff happening,” and that he has a much more physical role this time around. Going off theAnt-Manpost-credit scene, which finds Falcon and Captain America trying to free The Winter Solider’s bionic arm from a vice, the Superhero Registration Act is being called the Sokovia Accords inCaptain America: Civil War, and they ask each individual superhero to be accountable for their actions.

Along withChris Evans,Robert Downey Jr.andJeremy Renner,Captain America: Civil WarstarsScarlett Johansson(Black Widow),Sebastian Stan(The Winter Soldier),Anthony Mackie(The Falcon),Paul Bettany(Vision),Don Cheadle(War Machine),Elizabeth Olsen(Scarlet Witch),Paul Rudd(Ant-Man),Chadwick Boseman(Black Panther),Emily VanCamp(Agent 13),Daniel Brühl(Baron Zemo),Frank GrilloCrossbones),William Hurt(Thaddeus Ross) andMartin Freemanin an unspecified role. The only major stars fromAvengers: Age of Ultronwho won’t be present areChris Hemsworth’s Thor andMark Ruffalo’sHulk, although there have been rumors that Hulk shows up.

This photo isn’t exactly confirmation that Hawkeye is part of Team Captain America, but, with production still happening, we probably won’t know for sure for quite some time. Do you think Hawkeye will side with Cap inCaptain America: Civil War? Or do you think he will side with Iron Man? Check out the new photo and let us know what you think.
