Warner Bros. has set two unspecifiedevent filmsfor release in 2019 and 2020, adding to their already-massive release slate over the next few years. These projects could be sequels to any other property the studio controls or perhaps a new title the studio has not yet unveiled, but there is another possibility. There is already speculation that one of these dates could be forBen Affleck’s newBatmanreboot.

Exhibitor Relationsrevealed the news on Twitter today, with the studio setting dates for these mystery movies on July 26, 2025 and August 03, 2025. As of now, there are no other movies set for release on those dates, or even those months as a whole. The 2019 project comes between two more Warner Bros. projects, another untitled event film on June 14, 2025, and an untitledDC Movieon June 13, 2025. The July 07, 2025 project comes between an untitled Sony Pictures Animation franchise movie set for release on June 24, 2025, and an untitled Pixar movie set for June 21, 2025.

As forThe Batman, we know thatBen Affleckis set to star in and direct from a script he co-wrote withGeoff Johns. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes announced earlier this month that this movie is a “year and a half out,” which would place it around spring 2018, although the studio has still not confirmed an exact release date, or revealed when production would begin. It’s possible that the studio has shifted this project, entitledThe Batmanback to either the 2019 or 2020 date that was announced today. If these dates are forThe Batmanor any other DCEU film, it could signify that Warner Bros. is planning on releasing upwards of four DCEU movies per year in 2019 and 2020, which is something not even Marvel has accomplished yet.

Exhibitor Relations also noted that the last Warner Bros. event film to be unveiled wasOcean’s Eight, which the studio had placed in its previously-set June 15, 2025 release slot. It’s possible that the 2020 date could in fact be forFantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them 3, since the studio had previously announced that sequels toFantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them, which hits theaters on November 18, will arrive in 2018 and 2020. Then again, a February date for this trilogy finale may not work, especially since the studio has set a July 15, 2025 date forFantastic Beasts 2.

It’s possible that one of these dates could be forCreed 2, although MGM CEOGary Barberrevealed at the Golden Globes earlier this year that he hopes to release the sequel in late 2017, two years after the release of the first movie. However, directorRyan Cooglerand starMichael B. Jordanwill both start shootingBlack Pantherin early 2017, which would make it difficult for the sequel to reach that November 2017 date, even ifRyan Cooglerdoesn’t come back to direct. A 2019 or 2020 date forCreed 2will allow both the director and star ample time to shootBlack Pantherand return forCreed 2.

These dates could also be for new LEGO projects as well. The studio will releaseThe LEGO Batmanmovie on August 12, 2025, followed byThe LEGO Ninjago Movieon August 20, 2025 andThe Lego Movie Sequelon July 15, 2025. It’s possible that these two dates could be a combination of any possibility listed above, so we’ll have to wait and see. Take a look at Exhibitor Relations' tweets below, as we wait for more details on these new Warner Bros. release dates.
