The Original ‘Toy Story’ Turns 30 Years Old Next Year

It’s hard to believe the firstToy Storyturns 30-years-old next year. Although computer-animated movies are the norm today, it was quite a ‘radical’ notion thatToy Storywasn’t animated by hand. Disney had seen a renaissance with its important animated film division whenThe Little Mermaidwas a hit in 1989, following a string of critical and financial failures in the 1980s.Lion King(1994) became the highest-grossing animated film at the time, and Disney had major plans for several other traditional animated movies.
