It was recently announced that the show had been renewed for season 4 ahead of next year’s arrival of season 3, but the early renewal news also came with a major bombshell. After three seasons of playing Geralt of Rivia,Henry Cavillis exiting the series whileLiam Hemsworthhas been brought in to replace him in the role. Big recastings like this seldom go down very well with the fans. Many feel that Cavill is too perfect as Geralt that no other actor will feel right as the character, especially after three seasons. With one viral tweet, one person suggests that Cavill was run off the series. It could be that Cavill will be too busy forThe Witcherconsidering his return as Superman in the DCU, but this fan’s not so sure that’s the case.The tweet reads: “henry cavill a leaving the witcher after begging netflix for the role and being the biggest fan of the franchise is making the report that the writers hate the books seem more and more plausible. they chased that man away from the series. this is sick.”

The Witcher Moves Forward With Liam Hemsworth
Clearly, many fans are not thrilled about Liam Hemsworth joiningThe Witcher, but others are curious to see how this turns out. Hemsworth posted a statement about joining the show toInstagramand the post has been liked nearly 600,000 times as of this writing. The actor also expressed his excitement about getting cast as Geralt as he’s a bigWitcherfan.
“As aWitcherfan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia,” he said. “Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.”
