Released viaNetflix Geeked, the unique superhero series will return toNetflixlater this month, and this latest footage is sure to have audiences excited to once again join The Umbrella Academy on their next adventure.
The Hotel Obsidian is a delightfully dilapidated place, perfect for the peculiar Hargreeves siblings. The hotel appears to be their new headquarters, having been thrown into an alternate universewhere their home is now inhabited by The Sparrow Academy.While it is unknown at this time, it is possible that Hotel Obsidian will be connected to The Hotel Oblivion from the pages of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s Dark Horse comic book.
The Hotel Oblivion was built by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and is located on a distant planet. The building served as a prison for the notorious criminals apprehended by The Umbrella Academy, and while we don’t yet know whether the two hotels will be linked in the Netflix show, it is very possible that some of these elements will be folded into the adaptation.
The Umbrella AcademySeason 3 Finds the Hargreeves Family in an Alternate Universe
Based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s Dark Horse comic book series of the same name, the first series ofThe Umbrella Academybegins in 1989, when a highly unusual occurrence sees forty-three infants inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy. Seven of these mysterious babies are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world.
Season 3 will pick up with the Hargreeves’ right after the events of the second season. After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, The Umbrella Academy returns home to the present. Or so they think. Convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all, the celebration is quickly shut down when they realize things aren’t exactly how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?
Thrown once again into a world they shouldn’t be in, The Umbrella Academy will quickly come face to face with The Sparrow Academy, an alternate and seemingly much more organized version of themselves. Tackling time paradoxes, various variants, and, of course, family drama,The Umbrella AcademySeason 3 promises to be the team’s most captivating escapade yet.
