“It’s beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAAAS,” Johnson says in a caption alongside the images, which show himselfand hisRed Oneco-star Chris Evanshaving fun posing and filming “Officially kicking off production for our CHRISTMAS franchise film titled, “RED ONE” with my guy @chrisevans.” Johnson then reveals that “Chris and I have been waiting to make a Christmas movie our entire careers and now finally, the trouble begins…”
The action superstar then heaps praise onRed Onedirector Jake Kasdan while teasing the unique approach to the Christmas movie. “Our director, Jake Kasdan has been in inspired form to deliver a very special, one of a kind CHRISTMAS franchise for you and your families around the world to enjoy,” he continues. “* Jake directed both JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE & JUMANJI:: THE NEXT LEVEL. Not much has been revealed about the plot ofRed One, but the project has been described as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Based on these latest images, it looks like Evans will be playing an everyman-type who is no doubt dragged on an adventure by Johnson’s character. A character who, based on the red-and-black suit, candy-cane-looking lasso, and big, black boots, is looking more and more likely to be a burly, action-oriented Santa Claus.
Directed by Jake Kasdan and from a script written by Chris Morgan that is based on an original story by producer Hiram Garcia,Red Onestars Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, J. K. Simmons, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, and Wesley Kimmel alongside Johnson and Evans.

Dwayne Johnson Continues to Dominate the Box Office
