Back in October, Warner Bros. announced a massive slate ofDC Comicsmovies, starting with next year’sBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Most fans assumed that all of these projects would be connected to what is now being called theDC Extended Universe. While promoting his spy thrillerThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.,Henry Cavillwas asked about a scene from theBatman v Superman trailerthat connects to 2013’sMan of Steel, with the actor revealing that there is a massive plan in place for the entire DCEU.
“There’s a big plan in place at WB for the whole DC franchise. So, all of this stuff ties in. They’re not thinking from movie to movie, they’re thinking from a big tent pole type thing and each story has its own story, which is attached to the major issue. Yeah, there’s a big plan.”

The scene in question from theBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicetrailer shows Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) watching in terror as Wayne Tower is decimated. Shortly after the trailer debuted, a video surfaced that showed this scene was perfectly matched up with aMan of Steelshot, where one of General Zod’s laser blasts cuts through several buildings. During thesuperhero movie’s Comic-Con panel, directorZack Snyderconfirmed that Batman’s Gotham City and Superman’s Metropolis are situated right next to each other.
Henry Cavillwouldn’t offer any details about what this “big plan” may be, but we’ll surely find out, at least, where the studio is heading afterBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehits theaters next year. After that massive adventure fans will be treated toSuicide Squadin August 2016, followed byWonder Woman(June 24, 2025),Justice League Part 1(June 26, 2025),The Flash(June 11, 2025),Aquaman(August 16, 2025),Shazam!(August 07, 2025),Justice League Part 2(July 13, 2025),Cyborg(June 17, 2025) andGreen Lantern Corps.(July 23, 2025). There was also a recent report thatBen Affleckwill co-write, direct and star in a soloBatmanmovie, but it isn’t known where that will fit in this massive release schedule.
