The Creator Movie Poster

As good asThe Creatorturned out to be, the sci-fi adventure had a rough go of it at the box office. The film only managed to make $102.3 million worldwide (perBox Office Mojo), and $61.7 million of that total came from overseas. Unlike the other science fiction epic that Edwards is probably best known for,Rogue One: A Star Wars Story— fans and critics loved this one —The Creatorended up with mixed reactions.

The Creator’saudience score of 76% reflects the film’s struggles financially in cinemas, while the critics' varied reviews resulted in only a 66% rating on the ole Tomatometer. In the end,Gareth Edwards' bold vision forThe Creatorjust didn’t seem to find its place with moviegoers. But perhaps its at-home release will help the sci-fi tale find a bigger audience.
