There will be more cleaning up that needs done at Fox. PerVariety, it’s just been announced thatThe Cleaning Ladyhas been officially renewed for season 3. With the renewal comes a change to the creative team, as Jeannine Renshaw has boarded the show as co-showrunner to replace an exiting Melissa Carter. Series creator Miranda Kwok had served as co-showrunner with Carter for the first two seasons and will continue in that role alongside Renshaw.
Addressing the renewal, Fox Entertainment’s president of scripted programming, Michael Thorn, stated: “After two heart-pounding seasons, we’re thrilled with how audiences have latched on to this incredible story. The cast, led by the incomparable Élodie Yung, along with our brilliant creative team and our partners at Warner Bros. Television have expertly crafted a highly compelling, emotionally-driven show that gives a perspective you don’t often see on television.”

“The Cleaning Ladyis a gripping and masterful tale of a mother who will do anything for her child,” adds Warner Bros. Television Group chairman and CEO Channing Dungey. “I am thrilled that we get to continue to explore Thony’s world in a third season. The Cleaning Lady Is Set to Return
The series is based on an Argentine show calledLa chica que limpia. It follows Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a former surgeon who accepts a job as a cleaner and doctor for acriminal organizationin order to pay for her son’s life-saving medical treatments. Along with Yung, the series also stars Adan Canto, Oliver Hudson, Martha Millan, Sebastien LaSalle, Valentino LaSalle, Sean Lew, Faith Bryant, Eva De Dominici, and Naveen Andrews.
Kwok and Carter executive produce the series with Rose Marie Vega, Paola Suarez, Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, and Michael Offer. Stewart Lyons, Joe Lotito, and Michael Notarile produce.
The second season ofThe Cleaning Ladyconcluded in December, and the news about its future had since been uncertain. The series pulls inrespectable viewershipwith an average of 5.4 million viewers per episode when factoring in multiplatform viewing for season 2. Season 3 hasn’t yet been given a premiere date at Fox.
