“’The Boys’ could be the best job I’ll ever have. What other show allows me to write about politics, capitalism, family, and exploding genitalia, though not in that order. The cast and crew are deeply grateful to Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios for the opportunity to tell this story for another season. My only problem is that since this year promises to be free of any conflict or misinformation, we’re not sure what to write about.”

The Boys Showrunner Has a Blunt Message For Those Complaining the Series is ‘Woke’

Eric Kripke has shared his thoughts about the political and real-world stances shown in The Boys reflecting so called ‘woke’ ideals.

Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson,The Boystakes place in a universe where super-powered individuals are recognized as heroes by the public and owned by the powerful corporation Vought International. However, outside their heroic personas, most of these so-called “heroes” are arrogant and corrupt, with the series focusing on the titular Boys, a group of vigilantes looking to keep the corrupted superheroes under control.

The series hasbeen a massive hit for Prime Video, and stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as the titular vigilantes and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as the main line-up of supes.

The Boysseason 4 will debut its first three episodes on June 13, before airing the rest of its eight episodes on a weekly basis.
