Among all thehorrorfilms of 2024 that garnered a lot of attention, there was one hidden gem that flew under the radar despite having a 95% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. TitledStream, it marked the first appearance ofTim Curry on the big screen in 14 years, and was one of the last movies to star Tony Todd before his untimely death. Now, it’s getting a sequel thanks to Fuzz on the Lens Productions, the same team who had a hand in the two most recentTerrifierfilms.

Per Bloody Disgusting,Stream 2will “build on its predecessor’s all-too-real technology-driven storyline while still maintaining the feel of a classic slasher.” Fans who have seen it will recall thatStream’s plot centered around a vacationing family who were the unwitting participants in a live-streamed game that featured four serial killers competing to see which one of them could score the most creative kills.

“Fuzz on the Lens is doubling down on what made the first film stand out and the sequel is set to raise the stakes with more inventive gore, exciting mythos and a cast of horror icons.”

‘Stream 2’ Was Always the Plan

“From the very beginning, we have always had the intention of making manyStreamfilms, so everything about part 1 was basically a promise to horror fans that there would be so much more,” added Salla in a statement of his own. Hopefully that “more” he’s talking about will be another crop of horror icons, asStreamwas filledwith legends like Dee Wallace, Daniel Roebuck, Felissa Rose, Danielle Harris, and Bill Moseley. There are so many more great performers out there, so we’re anxious to see who joins the cast as things progress.

As far as whetherStream 2will employ the use of crowdfunding? That remains to be seen at this point. The first movie raised over $180,000 on Indiegogo from horror lovers all over the world, which truly made it feel like an event film in the community. With a 95% rating from critics and 93% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s clear that the investment paid off, so we wouldn’t be surprised if another campaign was started to raise funds whenStream 2is ready to go.
