Supergirlhas had a lot of success in season 2 since the show moved from CBS to The CW. The show recently was part of amassive crossoverin the Arrowverse withLegends of Tomorrow,ArrowandThe Flash, in which the heroes had to protect Earth from a massive alien invasion. It looks like Kara Zor-El isn’t done with aliens yet, because the White Martians are coming back, as teased by a new clip released by The CW ahead of this week’s upcoming episode ofSupergirl.
The CW uploaded the clip online, which features Miss Martian,Martian ManhunterandSupergirldoing battle with the first wave of White Martians, who will be threatening central city this week. The 11th episode ofSupergirlseason 2, appropriately titled “The Martian Chronicles,” is set to debut Monday and this clip gives a good idea of what fans can expect this week. In case the clip isn’t quite enough, here is the official synopsis for the upcoming episode ofSupergirl.
“Armek (guest starTerrell Tilford), a White Martian, descends on National City intent on taking M’gann (guest star Sharon Leal) back to Mars to face her punishment as a traitor. Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) determine the best way to keep M’gann safe is to bring her to the DEO. However, when it is revealed that Armek shape-shifted into M’gann and is now loose in the building, the team realize he could be disguised as any one of them.”
Miss Martian recently suffered a psychic attack at the hands of an unseen White Martian that temporarily put her in a coma. She was also released from her DEO cell by Martian Manhunter, who has let go of any bitterness he had towards her after seeing her helping out Green Martians during a mind-meld. This clip speaks to that, but the situation is still seemingly complicated, even without the impending White Martian attack looming. For those who may not know much about theWhite Martians, here is a little bit of background info on the creatures, courtesy of the DC Database Wikia.
“White Martians have configured their physiology to reflect their philosophy, becoming a separate race from the Green Martians, and the Yellow Martians. Their preferred form is that of angular, hairless humanoids with chalky white skin which often forms bony ridges or plates, giving them the appearance of armor…Like the Green Martians, White Martians have numerous superhuman powers and as well their vulnerability to fire.”
Kara may be back in her own universe, but she is far from done with extraterrestrials, since the White Martians will be making their return to the world ofSupergirlfor the first time since the show’s first season.
