One character most fans are looking forward to isMargot Robbie’sHarley Quinn, who will be debuting on the big screen for the first time, after being first introduced inBatman: The Animated Seriesin the 1990s. We’ve seen from the trailers that Harley won’t be wearing her iconic court jester costume, but during an interview withHello Giggles,Margot Robbierevealed that it was almost included in the movie, and may be featured inSuicide Squad 2.

“We tried on every variation of the costume. I cannot emphasize enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried. We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her. I really love where we ended up. And who knows, maybe in thesequelswe’ll go with the court jester one. I think there’s a world of possibilities.”

We reported last week that Warner Bros. is reportedly so happy withSuicide Squadthat they’re already working on the sequel, with plans for directorDavid Ayerto return and start production sometime in 2017. The director, who also wroteSuicide Squad, won’t be available to write the script, since he signed on to direct the new fantasy crime thrillerBrightstarringWill Smithfor Warner Bros. The studio wants to start shootingBrightthis year, in hopes of getting bothDavid AyerandWill Smithback to shootSuicide Squad 2sometime next year.

The all-star ensemble cast forSuicide SquadincludesWill Smith(Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn),Jared Leto(The Joker),Jai Courtney(Boomerang),Joel Kinnaman(Rick Flagg),Cara Delevingne(Enchantress),Viola Davis(Amanda Waller), Karen Fukuhara (Katana)Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje(Killer Croc), andJay Hernandez(El Diablo). While no other cast members are confirmed yet,Margot Robbierevealed in this interview that she would “absolutely” sign on for a follow-up, while revealing the unusual circumstances in which she was cast as Harley Quinn. Warner Bros. hasn’t issued a release date forSuicide Squad 2yet, but if production does in fact start next year, it’s possible they could release it in 2018. As of now, the studio will releaseThe Flashon July 17, 2025 andAquamanon August 13, 2025, so if this sequel does move forward, it’s possible that they could release it at some point in the back half of 2018.
