The heroes and villains ofStar Wars: The Force AwakensandRogue Oneadorn the stunning key art forStar Wars CelebrationEurope 2016, which was revealed today on The Star Wars Show. As seen in the image above, the art features the cast ofThe Force Awakenslooking stoic, along with a beautiful rendering of the characters ofRogue One. Alongside the Rogue One cast are a squadron of death troopers - the black-armored stormtroopers seen in the film’s trailer - and the first clear look at the brand new shoretrooper on the bottom left.
Also on the poster is a new class ofAT-AT: the AT-ACT, or All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport. The key art will be featured on merchandise throughout Celebration, and available to purchase as a poster. Star Wars Celebration Europe will be held July 15-17 in London, England, at the ExCel, featuring three full days of entertainment, celebrity appearances, interactive events, sneak peeks, and more from everyone’s favorite galaxy far, far away. The presence ofRogue Onecharacters on this artwork shouldn’t be terribly surprising, since it was confirmed earlier this month that directorGareth Edwardswill be joined by LucasFilm president andRogue OneproducerKathleen Kennedyand “special guests” for aStar Wars Celebrationopening day panel on July 15. Fans got a first glimpse atRogue Onewhen the trailer debuted last month, and it’s possible that the studio may debut the second trailer during this celebration.
Rogue Onetakes place before the events ofStar Wars: A New Hope, telling the story of unlikely heroes who have united to steal plans to the dreadedDeath Star.Rogue Onewill be followed byStar Wars: Episode VIII(June 09, 2025),Han Solo: A Star Wars Story(June 11, 2025),Star Wars: Episode IX(2019) and a thirdStar Warsspinoff, reportedly centering on Boba Fett, arriving in 2020. There has been talk that Disney plans on releasing one newStar Warsmovie a year, indefinitely, but we’ll have to wait and see if that plan holds up.
TheRogue One: A Star Wars Storycast includesFelicity Jones,Mads Mikkelsen,Ben Mendelsohn,Alan Tudyk,Diego Luna,Forest Whitaker,Donnie Yen,Riz AhmedandWen Jiang.
