Avengers: Endgamewas definitely the most anticipated movie of the year. And technically it kicked off the summer moviegoing season, even though it was released in the spring. Now that it has come and dominated the box office, currently standing as the second biggest movie of all time both domestically and globally, it’s time to look forward to the next big thing. So, what is the most anticipated movie of the summer? According to Fandango, it’s the full-length post-credit scene for Endgame otherwise known asSpider-Man: Far from Home.

Now, technically, Summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21, and some of these most anticipated movies are coming before that. But if Marvel had their way, summer would have officially kicked off in late April. So it’s all how you look at these things.

Fandango, who claim to be the ultimate digital network for all things movies, revealed the results of its Most Anticipated Summer Movies Survey, in which Marvel’sSpider-Man: Far from Home(the first Marvel Cinematic Universe entry since the game-changingAvengers: Endgame) was voted the most anticipated blockbuster of the summer. In polling that concluded Monday, more than 2,000 fans on Fandango were asked to vote for movies they planned to see on the big screen between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend.

Moviegoers named Disney’sThe Lion Kingand Disney Pixar’sToy Story 4as the most anticipated family films, with Disney’sAladdin, Illumination’sThe Secret Life of Pets 2, andDora and the Lost City of Goldfollowing closely behind.

Fans voted for Chris Hemsworth (Men in Black: International), Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far from Home), plus Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far from Home), Sophie Turner (Dark Phoenix) and Tessa Thompson (Men in Black: International) as the most anticipated actors in summer movies.

Richard Madden (Rocketman) and Naomi Scott (Aladdin) were selected as the hottest rising stars in the movies, whileFast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shawbad guy Idris Elba was picked as top summer movie villain. Says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis.
