And, this is when you’re going to be need to be blacked out for.’ That’s kind of generally what tends to happen. But, you know Destin [Daniel Cretton] is such a special filmmaker, and we’re very happy to have him on the sequel. So, he’ll be working on that, and we’re really excited to see what he comes up with. I think he’s going to do a brilliant job.”

And while some others might be suffering from superhero fatigue, Liu is not one of them. The Shang-Chi star is an “unabashed” fanof the genre and supports it wholeheartedly. Liu recently wrote in a post on hisThreadsaccount:

“I have and always will be an unabashed fan of superhero movies as a genre. There’s a variance for sure, and I hear everyone’s gripes about the overuse of CGI… but consider, in addition to all the spectacular elements, they are one of the few spaces where a person of color can be the main character. Science fiction and fantasy movies ask us to imagine a world where anything is possible. So, for what it’s worth, I hope the genre sustains and survives.”
