Saw Xdirector Kevin Greutert revealed that the franchise’s iconic bathroom set has been kept intact for future movies. And it’s because of eagle-eyed fans. While theSawfranchise has seen its fair share of sequels over the last 20 years, nothing has quite reached the same level of shock as the twist at the end of the James Wan-directed 2004 horror film. As fans of the franchise always know,Sawconcludes with the seemingly dead body in the bathroom rising up and revealing them self to be John Kramer, the Jigsaw killer. Before leaving the bathroom Kramer announces, “Game over” before shutting the door.
While chatting withThe Hollywood Reporter, theSaw Xdirector told the outlet:
“Every time we return to that location, the fans have an incredible eye for the details that they expect. In fact, we never tore down the set that we built for this movie. It’s still sitting in the abandoned factory where we shot the film. If they want to go back to it, it needs to be available because it’s just so much work to recreate it.”
With the bathroom set serving a such an iconic piece of horror film lore it’s no surprise that the franchise has returned to it on numerous occasions, including its latest installment,Saw X.Even so, having to recreate the same bathroom set over and over again would be time-consuming, so choosing to keep the original bathroom in place just makes the most sense.

Wan’sSawstarred Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Ken Leung, Dina Meyer, Mike Butters, and Tobin Bell as Jigsaw, and is still considered by most to bethe best installment in the long-running series.

What’s Next for the Saw Franchise?
While there’s currently no official word on what’s next for the franchise, the creative team behind theSawmovies still have plenty of ideas for potential future films. Producer Oren Koules toldComicBook.com:
“We tend not to get too far ahead of ourselves. The movie’s going to be released in a few days. For us, we do have ideas for the next one, we haven’t put pent to paper. But this is his story, we really wanted it to be John Kramer’s story and tell a John Kramer story. So for the first 30 minutes of the movie, he’s John Kramer, you don’t have any hint of Jigsaw.”

Saw Xbrings back John Kramer (Tobin Bell) for more. Themost disturbing installment of theSawfranchiseyet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events ofSaw IandII, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a new purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.
