Last month, it was confirmedthat the long-awaitedDeadpooladaptation will finally begin production this March in Vancouver, withRyan Reynoldsset to return as the Merc With the Mouth after debuting in 2009’sX-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actor has been making the press rounds lately to promote his indie comedyThe Voices, arriving in theaters February 6, and during and interview withCollider, the actor revealed that he’s under going a lot of “tests” to get ready for shooting. Here’s what he had to say, when asked about his preparations.

“Tests. Lots of tests. Lots and lots of tests. That’s about all I can say about that.”

VFX specialistTim Milleris making his directorial debut onDeadpool, who first signed on to direct way back in April 2011. When asked what made him the right filmmaker for the job,Ryan Reynoldscited his “fierce loyalty” to the project.

“[He’s] always been the right guy. He’s always, you know, shown nothing but a fierce loyalty to the canon ofDeadpooland that’s the thing you look for first and foremost, a guy that is always wanting to push a little bit farther. And the advantage of doing a movie like this on a budget that is significantly less than any other kind of superhero movie is that you get to do things that you don’t get to do on other superhero movies so that’s what we’re most excited about.”

Their has been plenty of speculation about whether or notDeadpool, which was written byZombielandscribesRhett ReeseandPaul Wernick, will be an R-rated adventure. When asked if his comments above mean that the production is aiming for an R rating,Ryan Reynoldshad this to say.

“I have no idea. I don’t want to spoil anything so we’ll see. We hope.”

Do you think 20th Century Fox should go all-out and make an R-ratedDeadpool? Or would you see this adaptation even if it was rated PG-13? Hopefully we’ll find out we inch closer to production getting under way, so stay tuned for more details.
