We’re days away from the home video release of the animated featureRon’s Gone Wrong,and for now, we have an exclusive clip for you to enjoy. The “Shooting the Sequences Live” bonus clip features the filmmakers revealing how they shot some of the scenes in-person to help with the animation. It’s a fun look behind the scenes at how this acclaimed movie came to be, and ahead of the official Blu-ray and DVD release on Dec. 7, you may watch the clip below.
The footage goesbehind the scenesinto the movie chronicles the production of a fight scene in the movie with one character getting slapped across the face. This entailed getting out in the cold air in London to shoot actual slapping footage which was then used to get the animation just right. We also see snippets of how other moments from the movie were brought to life with the assistance of actual footage, with stand-ins lifting heavy objects and acting out scenes, all of which helped the animation team make the characters' movements all the more natural.

Ron’s Gone Wrongis directed by Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine, with Smith and Peter Baynham penning the script. Julie Lockhart and Lara Breay produced the feature. Its cast includes Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner, and Thomas Barbusca. While its box office numbers fell a bit short, the movie was a big hit with viewers with a 94% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
