Quantum Leap Shares Its Continuity With Original Series, Scott Bakula Could Return

As of now, originalQuantum Leapstar Scott Bakula has not been confirmed to be involved with the reboot series. However, he has in the past teased his desire to see the series continue and is up to return as Dr. Sam Beckett, even if it’s for a special appearance and not to return in a series regular role. Perhaps with this new team looking for Dr. Beckett, the character could wind up appearing at some point in a future episode, and if there are no prior announcements made about his appearance, it could become the ultimate surprise for fans.

“Raymond Lee is South Korean, and he’s playing Ben Seong,” says executive producer Deborah Pratt, who wants this reboot to launch a whole new franchise, perThe Companion. “I think that’s a huge step forward that will bring in more global storylines. I can’t tell you his backstory and all that kind of stuff, but the episode is a trueQuantum Leapepisode and it’s an homage to the series in that sense. The characters that they have created for the show, I feel like, are strong and interesting.”

Pratt added, “I think it brings so many new elements. And I go back toStar Trek. Everything thatStar Trekcan do,Quantum Leapcan do. I think we should do a series of movies, I think we should do a series of series, and this is very much the first step into that world. And it will be up to the fans.”

That’s a lot of potential content that theQuantum Leapteam has in mind for the future. With so many fans still wondering what ultimately became of Dr. Sam Beckett, let’s hope that Scott Bakula finds a way to reappear somehow with the series getting revived.
