The streamer and studio has now begun to release details about their upcoming action-drama series,Costiera, which findsGrey’s AnatomyandOnly Murders in the BuildingstarJesse Williamsin the lead role as a former marine-turned-fixer.
As per a report by Variety, the first teaser for the Italian action drama was shown during a recent showcase hosted by the streamer, with Williams revealed to be playing “a fixer at a luxury hotel tasked with finding the owner’s daughter.”Costierais due to land on the streaming platform later this year.

During the event, Prime Video’s head of originals for Southern Europe, Nicole Morganti, revealed that, despite the series having both an American director, Adam Bernstein, and an American lead actor,Costierawill be a “true Italian story, written by Italian writers.” Alongside Williams, the series will feature an international cast from across France, Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as an Italian co-producer, Lux Vide, with the series showing southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast as “a protagonist.”
“The most important thing is to show that Southern Europe can be the incubator and the place for an international story that can resonate around the world,” Morganti added.
‘Costiera’ Has the Potential To Be Another Action Hit
The series’ lead character of a fixer tasked with finding a kidnapped daughter certainly sounds like the kind of thing that action fans flock towards, conjuring memories of Tom Hiddleston’s hit seriesThe Night Manager, the one-man army approach of Jack Reacher, and the likes of Liam Neeson’s action movie magnum opusTaken. Best known for his role inGrey’s Anatomy,Jesse Williams is recognized for rolesin the likesThe Cabin in the Woods, Station 19, Brooklyn’s Finest,andOnly Murders in the Building.Costieramarks a very different role for the actor, and it will be interesting to see Williams leap into action on Prime Video.

Starring Alan Ritchson as the nomadic avenger Jack Reacher, the third season was released earlier this year and follows the title character as he hurtles into the dark heart of a vast criminal enterprise when trying to rescue an undercover DEA informant whose time is running out.
