Well, the wait is nearly over, as Thalia will appear in the upcoming second season.

It hasn’t been confirmed how much Thalia will be present in the second season. As the series has been a mostly faithful adaptation of Riordan’s novels,it is likely that Tamara will only appear at the end of Season 2, setting up the character for a much larger role in future seasons.

During Grover’s flashback, Thalia sacrifices herself fighting a Minotaur, as Grover and Annabeth make their way to Camp Half-Blood. Her body and soul are then transformed into a tree which creates the barrier protecting Camp Half -Blood. In the novels, Thalia Grace becomes an incredibly powerful ally of Percy’s. As another child of the big three (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades), Thalia is incredibly strong and adept at combat. Speaking on Tamara Smart’s casting,Rick Riordan (who serves as an executive producer on the show), said:
“Thalia Grace is one of the most important characters in the Percy Jackson universe, so the right casting was critical. Thalia is a powerful warrior, a fiercely loyal friend, and a demigod rebel with a very ‘punk’/‘rage-against-the-machine’ sensibility. As soon as we saw Tamara Smart play this role, we knew we had found our daughter of Zeus. She was, no pun intended, electric.”
