In response, Paul Walter Hauser light-heartedlyhintedthat he would love to pay tribute to Candy’s role as shower curtain ring salesman Del Griffith…and wants Ryan Reynolds to join him in Steve Martin’s role as advertising executive Neal Page.

While aPlanes, Trains and Automobilesremake led by Ryan Reynolds and Paul Walter Hauser may just be a dream of the latter for now, audiences may not have a choice when it comes to seeing another take on the treasured comedy. Back in 2020, it was revealed that a remake is now in theworks with Will Smith and Kevin Hartin the lead roles. While updates have been pretty scarce since, Hart did reveal in 2023 that the project is still going ahead and, speaking withET Canada, the Jumanji star declared they are “Still writing!”
