The sci-fi thriller will premiere on Sunday, June 23 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC and BBC America, and will stream on AMC+. New episodes will air weekly on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT. Described as neither a “spinoff or reboot of the original series, but rather a completely new story set in the same world," it certainly looks likeOrphan Black: Echoeswill follow the same path as its predecessor in one way. And that way is being ruddy mysterious.

Anna Fishko(Pieces of Her,The Society,Fear the Walking Dead) is creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer ofOrphan Black: EchoeswithJohn Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series who also directed 17 episodes across all five seasons, serving as director and executive producer. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers fromBoat Rockeron the originalOrphan Blackseries, return as executive producers on the new series. Boat Rocker’s Nick Nantell also executive produces, in addition to Katie O’Connell Marsh and Kerry Appleyard. Boat Rocker manages theOrphan Blackglobal franchise, including content distribution and consumer products.
The series stars Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23) alongside Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty, The Bodyguard), Amanda Fix (High School), James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry), Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), and newcomer Zariella Langford.

Orphan Black: Echoes Will Be Different to the Original Series
The originalOrphan Blackfirst aired back in 2013, running for five seasons and concluding in 2017. Led byShe-Hulk: Attorney at Lawstar Tatiana Maslany,Orphan Blackbegins when her character, Sarah Manning, spots someone who looks uncomfortably like her. She soon discovers that she is one of several genetically identical human clones, with the series tackling issues surrounding the moral and ethical implications of human cloning and its effect on one’s identity.
Orphan Blackwas met with critical acclaim throughout its run, with Maslanyreceiving high praise for her multiple roles, which earned her plenty of awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy Award and two Critics' Choice Television Awards. But, don’t expectOrphan Black: Echoesto follow the same beat as its acclaimed predecessor, as creator and director John Fawcett has promised that the spinoff will be something different.
