Rainn Wilson Goes From Assistant Manager to Full-Time Traveler
The trailer for the series opens with Rainn Wilson as himself reflecting on the scope of his life so far, from his comedic tenure in Scranton, Pennsylvania to suddenly swimming in the open, frigid waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Teasing us with just how he got to that point, he muses that despite all of his success in the cutthroat and more impersonal world of Los Angeles and Hollywood, he still doesn’t feel like he has achieved happiness. Rather, he finds himselfwith a crippling anxiety disorderthat keeps him feeling true joy in life.
He seeks to figure out what true happiness in our world means, and how to obtain it. He travels to different parts of the world, some peaceful and some not so peaceful, from Thailand to Iceland, Ghana to Bulgaria, and of course, to his hometown of Los Angele. He meets inhabitants in all these places, experiencing what daily life is like for them and what happiness means in their eyes and overall perspective. It all culminates together into an educational and introspective journey that the audience will find just as fulfilling as Wilson does.
