Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed some more goods forStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkera month out from the movie’s official release. Not only did they reveal a brand new poster, which showcases the overwhelming odds the Resistance is coming up against in their fight against the First Order, but we also have a new TV spot, which is jam-packed with new footage. It’s still difficult to know what all of it means without any real context, but it’s an awful lot to process.

The spot opens with C-3PO’s heartbreaking speech from theStar Wars 9 final trailer. We then see Rey getting a look at Darth Vader’s helmet, which raises some interesting questions. We also get a look at one of the new First Order land speeders, and another new shot of Kylo Ren in his patched-up mask. We then move onto a big action sequence that sees Rey jumping aboard the Millennium Falcon, while Kylo Ren is blown back in a hanger. The whole thing concludes with a Palpatine laugh, Rey and Kylo crossing lightsabers, and some new voiceover from Finn, which states the following.

The Rise of Skywalker Dolby Poster

“We’re all in this. Till the end.”

Along with this latest TV trailer, we gotnew Star Wars 9 imagesthis morning. Indeed, there is a lot to process. Similar to the previous trailers, director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm seem to be bombarding us with imagery and dialogue that is meant to pique interest, but not reveal too much. This spot doesn’t provide anything new in terms of the overall story, which remains largely mysterious. Beyond Palpatine’s return and another, presumably final fight between the Resistance and the First Order, the central plot hasn’t made itself known.

Moving onto theStar Wars 9 poster, it’s an exclusive bit of artwork that was done for Dolby Cinema. The poster features a lone X-Wing facing down a truly remarkable number of Star Destroyers. The odds are overwhelmingly in favor of the First Order here. This plays on shots we’ve seen in the trailers, with massive assemblies of the First Order fleet gathering to finish off the Resistance. Though, as we’ve also seen in the final trailer, the Resistance won’t be down to one X-Wing. It appears we’re going to be in for one heck of a massive space battle. One complete with space horses charging into battle on a Star Destroyer, as glimpsed in this new TV spot.

It’s unlikely we will be seeing much more in the way of new footage, given that Lucasfilm and J.J. Abrams have been keeping a particularly tight lid on what is being billed as thefinal chapter in the Skywalker saga. Then again, it would have been tough to predict the amount of footage we were just treated to with this new spot, so who knows? In any case, all will be revealed soon enough asStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkeris set to hit theaters on December 20. Be sure to check out the new spot and poster from theStar Wars Twitteraccount for yourself.
