Peacock has released a new trailer for the upcomingSaved by the Bellreboot. The meta-comedy discusses the dangers of caffeine pills while taking the new class to the Max, with actor Ed Alonzo back practicing magic as the restaurant’s owner. Once again, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen are not included in the new footage, while Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley are prominently featured. The show was forced to shut down production before Gosselaar and Thiessen were able to shoot their return.
Mark-Paul Gosselaarhopes that he and Tiffani Thiessen will be able to shoot their parts in the near future. With that being said, they will both only be in a few of the episodes, due to scheduling conflicts.Saved by the Bellreboot creator Tracey Wigfield appears to have crafted a show that is similar toThe Brady Bunch Movie, in which there are a lot of self-referencing jokes. WatchingElizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano, who is now a guidance counselor at Bayside, warn about the dangers of caffeine pills should give old school fans something to laugh about it.
Mario Lopezrecently talked about the new take onSaved by the Bell. “It’s a little edgier, not like dirty by any means, but a little edgier and hipper and a lot of fun,” he says. “We have a great young cast. And some of the old cast is back. And it’s pretty clever the way they’ve sort of set the characters to where they are now.” The new footage should give old fans a good dose of nostalgia while creating some excitement to learn about the new Bayside class.
TheSaved by the Bellreboot takes place whenCalifornia governor Zack Morrisgets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools. He then proposes that they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state, which just so happens to include Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality. The new cast includes, Josie Totah, Mitchell Hoog, Belmont Cameli, Haskiri Velasquez, Alycia Pascual-Pena, and John Michael Higgins.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar will appear in three episodes while Tiffani Thiessen is only returning for one. Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley are both series regulars and are featured in a lot of the new footage from the latest teaser. Screech Powell actor Dustin Diamond and Lisa Turtle actress Lark Voorhies have publicly expressed disappointment that they were not been invited to participate in the new version ofSaved by the Bellover the past few months. Diamond doesn’t have the best track record with his former cast members, but it’s unclear why they didn’t reach out to Voorhies. you may check out the teaser above, thanks to thePeacock YouTubechannel.
