We haven’t seen any more footage since then, but earlier today, theUniversal Pictures UK YouTube channelunveiled two brief trailer teasers, which reveal the second trailer will arrive on Thursday, April 21. These brief snippets of footage show thatMatt Damon’s title character is back and better than ever, while giving us a brief look at a new character played byAlicia Vikander.
Matt Damonhimself revealed last year that the story is set in the"post-Snowden world", referencing former NSA analyst Edward Snowden, who leaked thousands of classified documents that exposed how the government was spying on the American public. The movie will be exploring the nature of spy agencies and civil liberties. The actor also teased thatBourneis set in Europe, with the production shooting in several locations such as Greece and Las Vegas.
It’s been nine long years since we last saw Jason Bourne in 2007’sThe Bourne Ultimatum, with directorPaul Greengrassteasing earlier this month that he has been spending his time in Europe, “doing hard physical work.” As we can see in these videos, his skills have certainly not diminished.
