Patty Jenkins is the latest creative mind to sign a big deal withNetflix. TheWonder Womandirector has officially signed on overall TV deal with the streaming service, which is just the latest in a string of big career moves for the longtime filmmaker. This comes as Netflix will see a huge wave of competition flood the streaming marketplace in the coming months. Content is going to be key and they’re keeping at least one sought-after talent away from the likes of Disney, Facebook and Apple.

According to several reports,Patty Jenkinshas closed the deal, which will see her create, develop and produce new shows for Netflix. Financial terms of the deal weren’t officially disclosed, but it’s said to be worth in the $10 million range. Netflix vice president of originals Channing Dungey had this to say about the deal in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Patty Jenkins to Netflix. Hertrailblazing workhas pushed boundaries and she confidently tells stories that leave an unforgettable mark. We look forward to fostering her many ideas and helping them come to life.”

Patty Jenkins made a name for herself with her 2003 dramaMonster, which went on to win Charlize Theron an Oscar. Jenkins spent several years directing high-profile TV shows, such asArrested DevelopmentandThe Killing. However, it was 2017’sWonder Woman, which went on to become a critical darling and box office smash, that really put her on a whole different level in Hollywood, ultimately paving the way for this new deal. Jenkins had this to say in a statement.

“I’m so excited to embark on a great journey of making the new world of television with a company and group of people I admire as much as Ted [Sarandos], Cindy [Holland], Channing, Peter [Friedlander] and the team at Netflix. I look forward to digging in to some great work together soon.”

More recently, Patty Jenkins directed and produced the limited seriesI Am the Night, which starred Chris Pine. She’s also currently hard at work onWonder Woman1984, which is set to arrive in theaters next summer. Jenkins is just one of several high-profile creatives to sign high-dollar deals with Netflix.American Horror Storycreator Ryan Murphy,Grey’s Anatomycreator Shonda Rhimes,Game of Thronesduo David Benioff and D.B.
