Mindy Kalingand Justine Noble’sThe Sex Lives of College Girlsreturns to HBO Max this November. The just-released trailer promises more fun and self-discovery for friends Kimberley (Pauline Chalamet), Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott), Bela (Amrit Kaur), and Leighton (Reneé Rapp) as they embark on a new semester at Essex College. Last season, viewers were introduced to the foursome as they navigated their first year of higher education at the fictional university.

Season two picks up after Thanksgiving break, and according to the trailer, viewers can expect body-positive moments, including a “striptacular” to raise funds for climate change and a Winter Underland party where attendees don undergarments. Journeys of self discovery and facing serious issues (like paying for college) are also highlighted in the trailer, all mixed in with a lot of laughs and snow.

The Sex Lives of College Girlsreturns to HBO Max on November 17 with two new episodes. Two new episodes will stream weekly until the season two finale on December 15, for a total of ten episodes. Additional cast for season two includes Mekki Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Lolo Spencer, Renika Williams, and Mitchell Slaggert. Gavin Leatherwood, who portrayed Kimberely’s love interest Nico Murray in the first season, announced in March that he would not return for the series' second season.

Show creators Kaling and Noble (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) also serve as executive producers alongside Howard Klein.The Sex Lives of College Girlsis produced by Kaling International and 3 Arts Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Kaling Behind the Camera

Although Kaling became known for her work as a comedic actress onThe Office(on which she also served as a writer, executive producer, and director) and later forThe Mindy Project(which she created and also produced), she’s been more involved behind the cameras in recent years. Along withThe Sex Lives of College Girls, Kaling created the short-lived NBC sitcomChampions, Hulu’sFour Weddings and a Funeralminiseries, and Netflix’sNever Have I Ever, whose fourth and final season will air in 2023.

Kaling is on board to co-write the third installment in theLegally Blonde series alongside Dan Goor. She will also executive produce and voice the titular character in the upcomingScooby-Doospinoff,Velma. This year She also received a Tony Award for Best Musical for her work as a producer for the Broadway musicalA Strange Loop.
