Disney Branded Television has just released an official trailer for the upcoming animated seriesMarvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. The serise will drop its first six episodes on Disney+ on Jun 04, 2025, after first premiering on Disney Channel on Feb. 10. Also revealed along with the new trailer is the news that Jennifer Hudson and Daveed Diggs have joined the cast to guest star as Mane and Rat King, respectively. Both villains are featured in the new trailer, which you’re able to watch below.
The series follows 13-year-old super genius Lunella Lafayette (aka Moon Girl) and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present day New York City, the duo work together to protect the city’s Lower East Side from danger.

Diamond White and Fred Tatasciore lead the voice ast as the titular duo. The cast also features Alfre Woodard as Lunella’s grandmother, Mimi; Libe Barer as Lunella’s best friend and manager, Casey; Sasheer Zamata as Lunella’s mom, Adria; Jermaine Fowler as Lunella’s dad, James Jr.; Gary Anthony Williams as Lunella’s grandfather, Pops; and Laurence Fishburne as The Beyonder, a curious and mischievous trickster.
Other recurring stars include Omid Abtahi, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Michael Cimino, Indya Moore, and Craig Robinson. Along with Hudson and Diggs, other guest stars for season 1 include Gideon Adlon, Pamela Adlon, Anna Akana, Ian Alexander, Alison Brie, May Calamawy, Andy Cohen, Wilson Cruz, Asia Kate Dillon, Luis Guzmán, Maya Hawke, Dr. Mae Jemison, Josh Keaton, June Diane Raphael, Paul Scheer, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Cobie Smulders, Wesley Snipes, and Tajinae Turner.

There are high hopes at Disney for the animated show. Even ahead of its premiere, it has already beenrenewed for a second season. News of the renewal was announced along with the release of the theme song written and produced by Raphael Saadiq. The soundtrack will be available on Feb. 10.
Laurence Fishburne serves as an executive producer on the show in addition to his voice work. Helen Sugland also produces for Cinema Gypsy Productions alongside Steve Loter (Kim Possible). Rodney Clouden (Futurama) is supervising producer and Pilar Flynn (Elena of Avalor) produces. Story editors Jeffrey M. Howard (Planes) and Kate Kondell (The Pirate Fairy) are co-producing.
