Superhero fatigue doesn’t seem to be an issue for some heroes, as thefirst trailer for season twoof the hit MCU seriesLokidropped a few days ago, breaking a couple of Marvel and Disney records as fans are getting hyped for the return of Tom Hiddleston’s beloved titular anti-hero Loki Laufyson, the Nordic Asgardian God of Mischief.
And with the trailer comes the rabid speculation of fans about what the new season has in store, with plenty of crazy theories spawning from Reddit. Fan theories have been a part of the iconic franchise forever, and there’s still no shortage of them. So let’s look at a few and break down some of the craziest Reddit fan theories aboutLokiheading into season two.

Kang Will Fall in Love with Ravonna
One theory based on some comic book history is from the Redditor Ed_Derick_, who believes the show’s villain Kang (Jonathan Majors), the conqueror and destroyer of universes, will fall in Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), one of the judges at hisTime Variance Authoritywhich control the timelines of his universes.
This theory is actually based on the comic counterparts of these two characters, as Kang met Ravonna, trying to conquer her father’s 40th Century kingdom, but he spared her father, and they grew close to loving each other. Until Kang’s guard commander, Baltag, saw this move as a weakness and turned Kang’s army against him.

Baltag was about to kill Kang until Ravonna jumped in the way of Baltag’s attack, sacrificing herself to save Kang. Kang tried to go back in time to rescue Ravonna but could only cryogenically preserve her instead until he found a way to save her.
This is a solid fan theory that will likely prove to havebigger consequences on the MCUas a whole if it proves true.

A Kang Variant Will Be the Villain
Kang himself is most likely to be the villain of season two, given such a cliffhanger left by his sudden takeover of the TVA at the end of season one. Redditor cbeckel3618 has another theory of the season’s villain that either Rama-Tut or Scarlet Centurion, who appeared in the end-credits scene ofAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and the trailer seems to suggest that a variant called Victor Timely will be the main variant we see this season.
It would be very interesting to have more variants, asseason one was about discovering who was behind the TVA,andseason two could be about deciphering Kang the Conqueror and his many variants.

King Loki Will Be the Villain
Loki met several variants of himself throughout season one, which were different versions of Loki from different timelines, which were changed from the one and only Loki that we all know and love because they had different experiences and made different choices. We see Classic Loki, based on the classic comics, Kid Loki, who killed Thor, and our Loki even begrudgingly teams up with a female variant of himself named Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), set on killing Kang for destroying her reality.
While it’s obvious to assume that Kang himself will be the season’s big bad, Redditor darrelthedudeWayne believes that it will be Loki himself – that is, King Loki, “a Variant of Loki who killed the Avengers and became King of Planet Earth, even killing Thanos and taking the Infinite Stones for himself.”

It would be fantastic if this theory proved true, as to watch Tom Hiddleston play two different Lokis against each other in the same way that Oscar Isaac did Marc Spector/Steven Grant inMoon Knightwould be just crazy awesome.
Mobius Will Die
A theory that has a big chance of proving true, Redditor Maximum_Who believes that Mobius will die, likely in a sacrifice move to help Loki and Sylvie escape or defeat whatever variant of Kang they face in the season. While not citing any proof or offering any reasons why, it’s a fair assumption, as killing off a side character close to the main character and also very well-liked by the audience later in a series is a typical move by shows. This was already done, as Mobius was pruned in the first season, though it turned out that doesn’t kill him.
The Redditor also believes that after his death, Loki and Sylvie “would therefore travel to the 90s, and find Mobius’s original (non-variant) driving a jetski.” And if there’s anythingwe want to see in season two, it’s a very happy Mobius shearing through the currents on a jet ski.

Loki Will Warn the Avengers of Kang
The history of the Avengers began when Loki invaded Earth, setting the stage for the rest of the Infinity Saga. And according to Redditor AndromedalcedLatte, Loki, who, through seeing his future and the interactions with other versions of himself, has become more good than evil in the series, will warn the Avengers of aneven greater threat than Thanos, Kang, setting the stage for the rest of the Multiverse Saga.
If this theory proves true, everything about how we view the entire MCU will change. And we can’t wait to see what else will prove true in season two ofLoki.
