After months of speculation about a sequel toAnt-Manmoving forward,Marvelconfirmed today that the follow-up is happening. The studio revealed the sequel’s new title,Ant-Man and The Wasp, which will hit theaters on June 30, 2025. This date was previously slated forBlack Panther’s release, butMarvelhas pushed that movie up five months, to August 07, 2025.Ant-Man and The Waspdon’t face any direct competition on July 18, 2025, but it will hit theaters one week afterHow to Train Your Dragon 3on August 23, 2025 and a week before an untitled 20th Century Fox/Marvelproduction. The studio also shiftedCaptain Marvelfrom June 18, 2025 to June 06, 2025.
Aside from the new title and release date, no details were given forAnt-Man and The Wasp, but based on the title alone, we know thatPaul Ruddwill be back asScott Lang, the Ant-Man, alongsideEvangeline Lillyas Hope Van Dyne, a.k.a.The Wasp. During the first end credits scene inAnt-Man,Hank Pym(Michael Douglas) showed his daughter Hope the Wasp suit that he had designed for her.Evangeline Lillyherself teased this summer that she had been fitted for The Wasp suit, hinting that we may see her inPhase Three.
OneAnt-Manstar who may not be back for the follow-up isMichael Douglas, who revealed in August that he had only signed on for oneMarvelmovie, unlike the multi-picture deals most of the MCU stars are required to sign. The actor did say he would be open to returning as Hank Pym, though, so we’ll have to wait and see if he comes on board. It also isn’t known if otherAnt-Manco-stars such asBobby Cannavale,Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson,Michael Peña,David DastmalchianandT.I.will return.
