Sony Pictures’ Madame Web will be led byFifty Shades of GreyandSuspiriaDakota Johnson, who cannot wait to bring the lesser-known Marvel character to the big screen for the first time.
“I’m so excited. It’s pretty cool to be in the Marvel world, especially with a character that’s not so known. There’s a lot of space to make her very cool. I’m very excited. It’s always been a dream of mine to do some kind of massive action movie. I always wanted to be like a female Indiana Jones. I really have always… I saw the new Top Gun, and it’s so good! It’s so good. There’s something about those movies, that’s just like, ‘Wow, a real human being can do that?'”

Johnson has also promised that, despiteMadame Webbeing another big comic book movie blockbuster, she will bring some of the more intimate elements that she loveswhen making smaller scale movies.
“I guess having experience on all tiers of films I can bring maybe some stuff from the little movies to the big movies that I want to see in them, you know? I really love seeing large-scale films that still have heart in them.”
