A teaser poster for Edgar Wright’sLast Night in Sohohas arrived. The director announced production had started on the long awaited movie earlier this week and teased some images from the set. While it has only been two years sinceBaby Driverwas released, many fans of Wright have been waiting for him to get back to work. As for what this project is, it has been described as a psychological horror that takes place in London.
There is currently not a lot of information aboutLast Night in Sohofloating around and the teaser poster doesn’t really offer up any clues as of what to expect. With that being said,Edgar Wrighthas shared some of his influences for the upcoming movie. He cites Nicolas Roeg’s 1973 thrillerDon’t Look Nowand Roman Polanski’s 1965 movieRepulsion. These are some pretty interesting influences and fans are wondering exactly what Wright is crafting for hisBaby Driverfollow up. Wright co-wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns.

Last Night in Sohostars Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, and Thomasin McKenzie. There currently isn’t any information about their characters just yet as Edgar Wright is keeping the details under wraps for the time being. However, since production is currently under way, we should at the very least see some set photos leak onto social media over the next handful of months, depending on how tight the set is over in London. Jared Leto was spotted quite a bit around the London area while makingMorbius the Living Vampireand so was Tom Holland while makingSpider-Man: Far From Home.
Edgar Wright enjoys making movies with surprising plot twists, so one can imagine the director isn’t very happy about his 2013 projectThe World’s Endcurrently being spoiled on Netflix, thanks to an auto-playing trailer which reveals a huge spoiler. Wright called out the streaming platform on social media after learning the news. Wright said, “HeyNetflix, change the autotrailer for something less spoilery!” Although the movie was released six years ago, there are still people who have not seen it and the director likes for viewers to go into his movies blind.
Last Night in Sohocurrently does not have an official release date, but it will more than likely hit theaters around this time next year, if all goes well. Focus Features and Universal Pictures should have an announcement as production progresses. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Edgar Wright has up his sleeve this time around. A psychological horror movie from the director does sound pretty intriguing, but will it have some of his normal comedic elements thrown in? For now, it’s far too early to tell.
