Kit Haringtonwants to portray another iconic character after his time on HBO’sGame of Thrones. The actor is known for his time on the fantasy series after playing the heroic Jon Snow from 2011 to 2019 when the show concluded, and he is ready for his next big-time role. In 2021, Harington made his debut in theMarvel Cinematic Universeas Dane Whitman, though his character wasn’t the main focus ofEternals.
However, in the post-credit scene for the film, Marvel, in typical fashion, teased the future of his character and left audiences with a massive cliffhanger for Whitman. It’s believed that Harington will become the Black Knight in later MCU movies as the film concludes with Whitman finding the Ebony Blade, complete with a voiceover from Mahershala Ali’s Blade in the background. Harington tellsThe Hollywood Reporterhe believed he would be signing on for more than one movie, as he didn’t plan on playing “someone’s boyfriend” for his role in the MCU.

“No, I kind of knew that that might be a possibility. I wasn’t that interested in rocking up in a Marvel movie just to play someone’s boyfriend. I knew of some future possibilities, so that’s always been part of the conversation. But like with anything, you don’t really know. You sort of do your research on what character it could be, and you go, ‘Oh, that looks quite fun.’ But it’s up to them whether they want to bring that person into their plans. I don’t know at this stage. I have no idea what their plans are.”
It’s hard to believe Marvel and Kevin Feige wouldn’t bring Harington back for more, as he’s an in-demand actor and received quite the setup inEternals. But, for now, fans will have to wait for more news surrounding the possibility ofEternals2or a standalone Black Knight project for the theater or Disney+.
