TheStar WarsUniverse is desperately in need of a new movie, and Lucasfilm seem to be making up its mind about when those films will be coming from. WhilePatty Jenkins’Rogue Squadronwas said to be out of contention as a viable project at the end of last year, the latest casualty from the other potential projects is the Kevin Feige produced movie that was said to still be in development last year. According toVariety, this potential side-step from overseeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now just as dead in the water as Jenkins’ movie.

TheKevin FeigeStar Warsprojectseemed to be one of the more likely projects to be movie ahead at Lucasfilm. Considering both Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm are owned by the Walt Disney Company, it would make sense for Feige to work in-house. In May last year, Feige was reported to have tappedWandaVisionandMultiverse of Madnesswriter Michael Waldron to script the movie, and the writer certainly seemed to be more than happy working on the movie at the time. However, whether it is Feige’s commitment to the MCU’s ongoing story, or Waldron having been taken on to writerAvengers: Secret Wars, it seems that a Kevin FeigeStar Warsmovie was just not meant to be.
