As it turns out, thereveal of X-23/Laura’s appearancewasn’t even an issue until Keen asked if she could attend the film’s premiere. “Dafne really wanted to go to the premiere and we said, ‘Well, she really can’t come to the premiere because it would be a spoiler,’” Feige said.

However, that problem ended up solving itself, as the Disney marketing team had already wanted to reveal Keen’s role before the premiere, as her character would highlight the “emotional core of the movie,” as Feige explained it. The final trailer with Keen’s appearance dropped just before the premiere, which solved two problems with one controversial solution. For Feige, that meant he could fulfill Keen’s wish:

That meant Dafne could come to the premiere.

Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverinemay mark the return ofHugh Jackman as the fan favorite X-Man, but contrary to popular belief, it may not be his swan song. WithAvengers: Secret Warslooming on the horizon, both Jackman and Reynolds could be trading barbs (at least PG-13 ones) once more. For now, however, Reynolds is happy that the film appears to deliver on the impossible hype that has surrounded it for months.

“The thing I’m most proud of is every frame ofDeadpool & Wolverineis thoughtful in the sense that we spent so much time and so much detail…and it just pays off,” he said.
