With this massiveopening weekendin the books,Jurassic Worldwill almost surely break yet another record by becoming the fastest movie to reach $1 billion worldwide. Another Universal Pictures movie,Furious 7, secured that record in April by reaching the milestone in just 17 days, surpassingMarvel’s The Avengers,AvatarandHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, which took 19 days to reach $1 billion.

TheJurassic World box officeperformance also helped Universal Pictures set more box office records, as the fastest studio to reach $3 billion worldwide, passing 20th Century Fox, which surpassed $3 billion on July 31, 2025. The studio also became the fastest to reach $1 billion domestically, passing Paramount’s milestone reached on June 08, 2025.
