The anticipation for the nextJumanjifilm is getting loud.Jumanji: The Next Level, released in 2019, was the last film in the franchise, following the massive success of the 1995JumanjirebootJumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Fans are really looking forward to another exhilarating adventure of Dr. Smolder Bravestone and his crew.
To the fans’ dismay, one of the main cast,Madison Iseman, does not know anything about the franchise’s fourth installment. Iseman is hopeful she gets to reprise her role as Bethany Walker in the film since Jumanji changed her life for the better. When asked to give update on the film, she toldCinema Blend,
“Nothing. If you hear anything, let me know. … And Sony’s on the line, ‘Hey guys…’ I mean, it’s definitely, it would be a dream. That franchise changed my life, and I miss it dearly and everyone who was a part of it.”
Iseman thinks it’s about time Sony starts planning for the next film since it has been almost four years sinceJumanji: The Next Levelwas released. The actress is just waiting for the film announcements, and she admits that she’d love to do another one. She said,
“And it’s one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. It’s due to watch it again. I think it’s time. I would love to do another one, any day. They can call me.”
Numerous outlets confirmed that Jumanji 4 is now in development, however the main cast of the film do not have a clue on the film’s status.

Speculations and Conflicts
In 2021, film producer Hiram Garcia mentioned that they’d start developingJumanji 4after they’re done withRed One. SinceRed Oneis set to be released later this year, it’s safe to assume that production ofJumanji 4would start soon. There’s no definitive timeframe on when they’ll start filming for it, but the earliest release date for the film would probably be 2024.
There are other factors that play into the equation, but probably the biggest reason was all the actors of the film seemed to have a lot on their plate. One thing that kept the production on halt was the conflicting schedules of the main cast. AlthoughKaren Gillan confirmed to THR in 2022that it will indeed happen, she doesn’t know when they’ll start filming.
