After aset videolast week that poked fun atDwayne Johnson’s “feud” withVin DieselonFast & Furious 8, “The Rock” has brought his cast and crew together for another sneak peek. The actor released an Instagram preview where he’s seen alongsideKevin Hart,Karen Gillan,Jack Blackand several members of the crew while it’s raining on the Hawaii set. Since they are filming in an actual jungle, the video featuresKevin HartandJack Blackdoing their bestGuns ‘n Rosesimpression, singing parts of the song “Welcome to the Jungle.”
This video also gives us another look atKaren Gillan’s controversialJumanji 2costume, which was criticized after the first photo was released. As you may see, the actress’ costume is quite skimpy, while her male counterparts are fully dressed. BothDwayne JohnsonandKaren Gillanhave stressed that there is a perfectly good reason for her costume, which has spawned several fan theories. WhileDwayne Johnsondidn’t address this controversy any further onInstagram, he did have this to say about shootingJumanji 2thus far.
“We’re in the raining #JumanjiJungle baby!Jack Black’s “Gonna watch you bleeeed” at the end kills me. Phenomenal first week of shooting with my extremely talented and funny co-stars @kevinhart4real, @karengillanofficial and our resident rock and roller Jack Black! We’ve been battling the jungle elements daily and directorJake Kasdanand hard working boots on the ground film crew is raising the bar when it comes to delivering the goods. Makin' a good one for you over here in Hawaii and Jack’s makin' em bleed. #OnLocation #Hawaii #Jumanji”
Last week, we reported that four more cast members have come aboard, playing charactersDwayne Johnsonreferred to as “Jumanjijuniors.“Alex Wolffis playing a young boy in the “real world” named Spencer, whose avatar in theJumanjigame isDwayne Johnson’s character,Dr. Smolder Bravestone.Ser’Darius Blain,Madison IsemanandMorgan Turnerare playing the other “real-world kids,” but we don’t know which avatars will represent them.Karen Gillansaid last week there was a good reason she was wearing “child sized clothes,” and it is believed that her character has been trapped in the game as a child, and has simply grown out of those clothes.
TheJumanjisupporting cast also includesNick JonasandRhys Darby, withJake Kasdandirecting. While we still don’t have an official synopsis yet,Dwayne Johnsonhas said multiple times thatJumanji 2will honor the late greatRobin Williams, whose character Alan Parish had been stuck in theJumanjigame for decades in the original 1995 movie.
