WhenIron Man 3hit theaters in 2013, many assumed it may be the last time fans would see Tony Stark’s bodyguard/driver,Happy Hogan, played byIron ManandIron Man 2directorJon Favreau. Fans were given quite the surprise earlier this month when it was confirmed that Happy Hogan would return inSpider-Man: Homecoming, which is currently in production. While we still don’t know how large or small his role is,Jon Favreauspoke about coming back to the MCU.

Earlier this month,Jon Favreauwas spotted in a photo released on Twitter byRobert Downey Jr., alongside Marvel PresidentKevin Feige,Spider-Man: HomecomingstarTom HollandandAvengers: Infinity WardirectorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russo. While we don’t know for sure ifJon Favreauwas in Atlanta to film his role inSpider-Man: Homecoming, it certainly is possible. Yahoo! Movies caught up withJon Favreau, who had this to say about remaining connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Well, as far as directing goes, I had done two back-to-back, and that required a tremendous amount of concentration on one subject. Fortunately, I didn’t lose connection with it; I just wasn’t directing there. I still was executive-producingAvengersandAvengers: Age of UltronandIron Man 3, and I appeared inIron Man 3. So I maintained the relationship as part of the family. And now, inSpider-Man: Homecoming, coming back and reuniting with the characters as an actor - it’s a lot of fun. It allows me to maintain the relationship with theMCU, but also to do other things that are interesting that are outside of that genre and that set of characters.”

We also reported earlier this month thatSpider-Man: Homecomingmay be filed at the newAvengersheadquarters in upstate New York. The rumors spread afterTom Hollandposted a set photo at the Porsche headquarters in Atlanta, which also served as the new Avengers headquarters at the end ofAvengers: Age of Ultronand inAnt-Man. It’s possible that bothRobert Downey Jr.andJon Favreaucould be part of the scene at Avengers headquarters, but we don’t know for sure.
