SeinfeldandBee Moviestar Jerry Seinfeld directs, co-writes, and stars inUnfrosted, which will drop audiences in Michigan in 1963, exploring the year before Pop-Tarts, a snack which Seinfeld himself has called a “perfect vision of the future from Kellogg’s,” landed in grocery stores.

Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story Is a Story Decades in the Making
Described as a “tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen,” that will “change the face of breakfast forever,”Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Storyis something ofa passion projectfor Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian has in fact been working on bringing this story to life on screen since as far back as 2010, with Seinfeld revealing his plans for a Pop-Tart origin story film way back in 2018.
“At one point I was thinking about an invention of the Pop Tart movie. Imagine the drunk on sugar-power Kellogg’s cereal culture of the mid-60’s in Battle Creek, MI. That’s a vibe I could work with.”

Seinfeld has since heaped praise on one of the movie’s stars,Hugh Grant, who, for the first time in 30 years, provided an audition tape for the role.Unfrostedwill see Grant don the iconic Tony the Tiger costume, with this moment being one of Seinfeld’s highlights.
“That was the greatest part of the whole thing, honestly. Because I am a crazy fan of his. [Hugh] asked me if it matters that Tony the Tiger has a British accent. I told him, ‘No, who cares?’”
