Jennifer AnistonandJason Bateman, who shared the big screen in the 2010 comedyThe Switchbefore reuniting in bothHorrible BossesandHorrible Bosses 2, are set to reunite once again with a new comedy project entitledOffice Christmas Party.The Hollywood Reporterreveals thatT.J. MillerandKate McKinnonhave also signed on to star in unspecified roles. This project has been in development for nearly six years, when it was first set up byThe SwitchdirectorsWill SpeckandJosh Gordon, but now it looks like it’s finally moving forward.
We first reported on the project back in August 2010, whenWill SpeckandJosh Gordonsigned on to direct a then-untitledholiday comedythat was being written byThe Hangoverwriting team ofJon LucasandScott Moore. A number of writers and actors have been attached since then, but the most recent draft was written by Gene Stupnitsky & Lee Eisenberg (Year One), along with Laura Solon (Hot in Cleveland). After being stuck in development for so long, it seems thiscomedy movieis now on the fast track.

While no details were given for any of thecast members' characters, the project is set to begin production this spring in Atlanta, with Paramount Pictures already setting a December 9, 2016release date. The movie will go up against Universal’sLet It Snowon December 9, and it will also open one week before the highly-anticipatedRogue One: A Star Wars Story. The story centers on a group of co-workers whoseOffice Christmas Partyhas gone awry.
Scott Stuber, Guymon Casady and Daniel Rappaport are producing, withWill SpeckandJosh Gordonserving as executive producers. Paramount will distribute the movie domestically, with Mister Smith Entertainment distributing in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Reliance, will distribute the film in India while Entertainment One (eOne) handles the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Australia and New Zealand.
