Will the Grandmaster show up inThor: Love and Thunder? Jeff Goldblum was recently asked about playing his fan-favorite character. As it turns out, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans will have a chance to hear Goldblum as the character at least once more, according to the actor. But it’s a little different than you’re probably thinking. Goldblum is currently out promoting his new Disney+ seriesThe World According to Jeff Goldblum, which just debuted this week with the first two episodes.
Jeff Goldblumwas asked aboutThor: Love and Thunderover the summer at the D23 Expo, but he could not divulge anything and played coy. This time around, he seemed a little bit more open, though he still isn’t saying much. For now, it seems like the Grandmaster will more than likely have at least a cameo in the upcomingThorsequel. Goldblum explains.
“Hey, we’re talking about it, in fact. You know, I hope so. I love Taika Waititi, he’s a great director and a friend of mine, so I hope so.”
It should be good news for MCU fans to learn that talks area being held right now between Marvel Studios and Jeff Goldblum to return inThor: Love and Thunder. However, the actor just recently playedthe Grandmasteragain for another Marvel project coming up. This project is less top secret and has had a lot of information about it revealed over the past few months. Goldblum had this to say.
“But I played the part again a couple of days ago. I went to theDisney studiosand I recorded the Grandmaster’s voice for an episode of a show that’s gonna be on Disney+ calledWhat If…?”
While all of this is great news, the actor did find himself in some internet hot water recently. It was reported thatJeff Goldblum would work with director Woody Allenif the opportunity should arise. The pair first worked together on the comedy classicAnnie Hall. But the idea of working with Allen triggered a lot of people on Twitter, and those certain individuals claimed that Goldblum was cancelled. Some fans came to Goldblum’s defense. And it seems that the quotes from the actor have been forgotten just days later.
It looks like most of the heat from Jeff Goldblum’s recent words on Woody Allen have died down after social media had deemed him, “cancelled.” The actor is out promoting the latest Disney+ series and will more than likely make the rounds again for Disney and Marvel Studios for when theWhat If…?series debuts. As forThor: Love and Thunder, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens and who Taika Waititi wanted to write into the script this time around. The interview with Goldblum can be seen above, thanks to the Buzzfeed YouTube channel. As a warning, Goldblum is in full Goldblum mode, so consider yourself warned.
