The next live-actionStreet Fightermovie adaptation has faceda few hurdles as of late, but it seems the project is finally taking shape. Legendary is moving forward with the reboot, and they look to add some of the most prominent faces in the action genre to the main cast.
According to Deadline, Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Roman Reigns are in talks to lead Legendary’s newStreet Fighterfilm, which is set to be directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip). It is currently unknown who is writing the screenplay or producing the feature-length project.Street Fighterwas first announced by the studio back in 2023, withTalk to Me’s Danny and Michael Philippou attached to direct. Sakurai has since replacedthe filmmaking duo, but that did little to stop the film from being moved off its Aug 15, 2025 theatrical release date. However, with the latest casting news, perhapsStreet Fightercould recoup its premiere date.

Netflix’s Long-Awaited Action Adventure Video Game Adaptation Just Got a Stealthy Update
The creative team behind Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the popular video game franchise has been revealed.
Deadline does not report which characters the actors might be playing, but Nexus Point News previously reported that Koji and Centineo were in talks to portray Ryu and Ken, respectively. Ryu is known as the main character ofStreet Fighter, while Ken is his best friend, and at times, rival. It’s unclear who Momoa and Reigns could be playing, but there is a chance one of them is M. Bison, the primary antagonist of the video game franchise. Our bets are on the former portraying the classic villain. Meanwhile, other key characters forStreet Fighterexpected to be cast soon are Chun-Li and Cammy.Reacherstar Alan Ritchson has beena popular fancast for Guile,but there is no word on whether the character will be in the new live-action film.

Bison is in the cards, he could tap into his villainous side, best seen in theFast & Furiousfranchise. Roman Reigns, who previously appeared inFast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, might be playing Akuma, one of the antagonists of the video game franchise.Street Fightercould be his most prominent role yet, further establishing the WWE star in Hollywood.
