Last week, box office analysts started tracking Warner Bros.‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the early projections claiming that this highly-anticipated superhero adventure will take in approximately $154 million during itsopening weekendin late March. While we still have to wait several weeks to see if those projections will hold up,Warner Entertainment Japanhas released an international trailer, which doesn’t include any new footage but offers a brief refresher course on this blockbuster-to-be, in case it’s been awhile since you’ve seen the previous trailers. It isn’t known if the studio plans on releasing any new footage between now and the March 25 release date.
If you look closely at this trailer, you’ll noticeScoot McNairy’s mysterious character in two scenes, one where he’s in a wheelchair near the Metropolis memorial, and another whereSuperman(Henry Cavill) is seen entering a Senate hearing. A rumor surfaced yesterday thatScoot McNairyisn’t playing Jimmy Olsen, as has been previously rumored, but he’s actually playing a character who was severely crippled duringSuperman’s battle with Zod inMan of Steel. He is present at the Senate hearing to testify againstSuperman, and he also becomes a pawn in Lex Luthor’s (Jesse Eisenberg) nefarious scheme, where he is turned into a human bomb. None of these details have been confirmed yet, but it’s certainly something interesting to consider.

It isn’t known if this unnamed character actually has roots within theDC Comicsuniverse or not, but with less than two months to go beforeBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehits theaters, it remains unlikely that we’ll get any confirmation of these details. During the shots we see of him in the trailer, he is seen in a wheelchair with no shins, which explains why he was wearing those green socks in the set photos that surfaced last year. It’s worth noting that anearly reviewclaimed the actor is actually playing Jimmy Olsen, but that review’s authenticity has not been confirmed yet.
